Secular 1

Hello and welcome here this afternoon.

We all know why we’re here and,…….

that it’s a very special time.

Not just for Groom and Bride but for all involved in their lives, for family and for friends.

Each one of us is important to Groom or Bride and that is why you’re we’re today

SO….as we join together let’s relax, get in the spirit of what’s happening and really celebrate this marriage of Bride to Groom

            ______________________________

SO…please make yourself comfortable, we’ll have a half time break in about an hour when ice creams, popcorn and drinks will be available at highly inflated prices.

Before we move on to the good stuff, I need to ask if there is anyone here who knows any reason why this marriage should not proceed, now’s your chance to speak up and say so!!!!

Who brings Bride to be joined in marriage with Groom ?

Both sets of parents stand …..
Bride's parents -- We do.

...... and ........., ........... and ..........., as Groom and Bride’s parents, are you willing, now and always to support and strengthen this marriage by upholding this couple with your love and concern?
Both sets of parents respond -- We are.

Thank you, please be seated.

Wedding Vows

Groom
I, Groom take you Bride
To be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love.
I will cherish our friendship and love you today,
tomorrow, and forever.
I will trust and honour you
I will laugh and cry with you.
I will love you faithfully
Through the best and the worst,
Through the difficult and the easy.
Whatever may come I will always be there.
As I have given you my hand to hold
So I give you my life to keep
This is my promise today.

Bride
I, Bride take you Groom
To be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love.
I will cherish our friendship and love you today,
tomorrow, and forever.
I will trust and honour you
I will laugh and cry with you.
I will love you faithfully
Through the best and the worst,
Through the difficult and the easy.
Whatever may come I will always be there.
As I have given you my hand to hold
So I give you my life to keep
This is my promise today.

In a moment we witness the giving of rings…..as a symbol of the promises about to be made.

These rings represent a holy agreement and should…
- Serve as a reminder to you both
- That the vows you both take today
- Before family, friends and before God

Are not temporary, Not conditional, But everlasting.

THEY: represent something continuous
like the unbroken circle that they are.

These are not just words to make the service sound nice, these rings are a powerful symbol of your relationship.

Something beautiful, lasting, something sure.

Look at your rings often,

AND………..as you do, remember the promises that you make today.

BECAUSE…..from today on, the two of you shall be one.

Groom please repeat after me,
I Groom with this ring
Take you Bride my chosen,
All that is mine, I give to you
And by this act I declare
In the presence of these witnesses
That I take you to be my wife,
I love you and I will always be faithful to you.

Bride repeat after me,
I Bride with this ring
Take you Groom my chosen,
All that is mine, I give to you
And by this act I declare
In the presence of these witnesses
That I take you to be my husband,
I love you and I will always be faithful to you.

NOW…
before your family and friends and in the sight of God

It is my great pleasure to pronounce you Husband and Wife.

Groom you may now kiss your bride.
