Wedding Ceremony for Greg and Clair

Hello and welcome here this evening.

We all know why we’re here and,…….

that it’s a very special time.

Greg and Clair are so glad you made it

Each one of you are important to Greg and Clair and tonight they wanted something that shows a little of themselves, who they are, what they like, where they have been, what lies ahead. Some of you will be surprised, some may think perhaps a little over the top, some will say typical of them and of course some won’t know much at all, but tonight is about them, so they can have what they darn well like. So please give it your best effort and have a great time this evening.

8 years 6 months of togetherness!
In Fiji, 2 years and a little over half an hour ago Greg proposed and here we are tonight, ‘sealing the deal’ as Greg once put it when asked by a man from Lancashire while in Bangkok why he was bothering after all that time. Nice! Clair replied.

SO….as we join together let’s relax, get in the spirit of what’s happening and really celebrate this marriage of Greg to Clair.

            ______________________________

# Clair and Greg I am sure you are both aware of the reality of the vows you are
   about to make to one another and of the responsibility that comes
   when a partnership is created.

   Marriage is based in honesty and trust, and only with these
   things can you create a successful partnership.

# A really happy marriage is founded on love.

# True love, is a commitment of both heart and mind.

# There is no stronger Bond.

Relationship in Marriage enables two individuals to share their:
                               * desires,
                               * longings,
                               * dreams and memories,

and to help each other through their uncertainties.

It provides the resources to step out and risk more and thus to gain more.

In marriage husband and wife belong together,
providing mutual support and stability to each other

Together, tonight we recognise and affirm the relationship you both have as you begin your married life together.

Not because of a contract written on paper,
but a contract written within the heart.

Clair, Greg, with these things in mind

Will you take each other in marriage today?
* With love, respect and honesty
* Will you stand by each other through whatever may come?
* Will you make whatever changes you need to make so that
   you can genuinely share your lives together?

In a moment we witness the giving of rings

 These rings represent a commitment and should…

  • Serve as a reminder to you both
  • That the vows you both take today
  • Before family and friends

ARE:

  • Not temporary
  • Not conditional
  • But everlasting.

THEY: represent something continuous like the unbroken circle that they are.

These rings are a powerful symbol of your relationship.

SOMETHING……Beautiful, lasting, Something sure.

Look at your rings often,

AND………..as you do, remember the promises that you make today.

BECAUSE…..from tonight on, the two of you shall be one.
